Concerto for flute soloist, ensemble, electronics and interfering composer.
A concert installation, theatrical event, flute concerto, ensemble work and technical extravaganza, all convoluted into one event. Breaking out of her habitual score-based practice, Alwynne Pritchard tried to fuse disparate practices in one production, drawing on the resources of the great Oslo-based ensemble asamisimasa, electronics-wizard Thorolf Thuestad, her own performance capacity and the material of my improvisational practice of the time. The result was bewildering and engaging, combining high-octane virtuosity with conceptual wonders and spatial finesse.
Roar Sletteland wrote an enigmatic text about Alwynnes practice -> here.
