I just premiered Off Soundings, a flute concerto by composer-cellist Lene Grenager, alongside the Caput Ensemble in Reykjavik. The work juxtaposes neck-breaking, fast-paced finger gymnastics with lyrical flute lines, shifting from percussive textures to ensemble resonances. Working with Lene is always a treat, this time in a more traditional composer to performer relationship. We are hoping to record the piece soon!
